The White Room, Kenmare, is located at 22 Henry Street and is one of those rare gems that is a must to visit when you are in Kenmare or touring the Ring Of Kerry.

The White Room's story began in the 1980s with Sarah’s mother, June, who started the business specialising in Irish linen and lace. Sarah's involvement began early, working weekends and holidays from the age of 12. Her passion and entrepreneurial spirit led her to open her first shop in Killarney at just 20 years old in 1994, followed by a second shop in Dingle in 1999.

Rising from the Ashes

In 2005, Sarah launched The White Room in Kenmare, Sarah and her fabulous team enjoyed ten wonderful years of business in 50 Henry Street, Kenmare After a decade of success, a devastating fire in 2016 destroyed the shop. Fortunately, no one was injured, and Sarah’s resilience saw her literally rise from the ashes, and with the help of her amazing team she relocated to 22 Henry St. and rebuilt the business. The White Room is running more successfully than ever in this beautifully restored building.

A Diverse Selection

The White Room continues to offer genuine damask table linens woven in Ireland, hand-finished cotton nightwear, and handmade Irish lace. Over the past decade, the shop has expanded its range to include decorative home wares, furniture, scented gifts, vintage-style children’s clothing, baby ware, linen christening suits, and ladies' accessories.

New Horizons

In 2021, amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah expanded her venture with The White Room Interiors Showroom. Located in Gortamullen Business Park, just a five-minute drive from the main shop, this spacious showroom is ten times larger and features an extensive array of furniture, lighting, mirrors, sofas, beds, home accessories, outdoor furniture & much more.
